Have you been wanting to obtain a dementia-care credential? This session is the required first step towards CDP certification and the training you’ve been waiting for!
We will offer the 8-hour training course developed by the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners, “Alzheimer’s Disease & Dementia Care.” This is the required class for those interested in becoming Certified Dementia Practitioners and it provides a thorough overview of the disease process from first symptoms through behavior challenges through end-of-life care.
Most long-term care employees, including Administrators, Nurses, Nurse Aide, Social Workers, and Activities & TR Professionals with long-term care experience meet the NCCDP qualifications for certification; to see if you qualify, please visit the NCCDP web site at www.NCCDP.org.
The seminar covers Diagnosis, Prognosis, Treatment, Communication, Feelings, Depression, Repetitive Behavior, Paranoia, Hallucinations, Wandering, Hoarding, Aggressive Behaviors, Catastrophic Reactions, Intimacy & Sexuality, Personal Care, Pain, Nutrition, Activities, Environment, Staff & Family Support, Diversity & Cultural Competence, Spiritual Care and End of Life.
Cost is $195.00 per person with a $75.00 cancellation fee. Lunch is on your own. A student notebook will be provided. No form of taping is allowed nor are lap tops permitted in the seminar.
